What is Monetization Method?

At Monetization Method we interview successful bloggers and share the stories behind their blogs. In each interview, we ask how they got started, how they grew, how they monetize their traffic, and how they run their blog today.

The stories are inspiring and also provide specific advice and insight into starting and monetizing a blog. By sharing these stories, we want to help others get started and better monetize their own blog.

My one goal with this course is to move people a few years ahead in their journey towards making an income from their website.

I’m not a guru, I won’t preach that you can make 6-figures next month from doing ‘this one simple’ trick.

But I will show tried and tested methods to accelerating the income of your website from a been-there, done-that perspective.

Take a look at the Google Analytics monthly users for one of my websites below. You can see from 2015 to 2019 it grew from zero users per month to abut 60,000. (If we are talking pageviews, this is about 200,000 per month at the moment).

Now, many people would wait to monetize their website until they have thousands of users per month. If I limited myself to the same mindset as those people, I wouldn’t have monetized the site above until October 2018 (which is about five plotted points from the far right of the graph).

That means I would have worked for all of 2015, 2016, 2017, and most of 2018 before I made my first dollar.

Note: I’m aware the example above started getting 10,000 users in it’s first month, which is a dream for most people who would be lucky to get 100 users in their first month. Don’t let this discourage you! The entire point of this Monetization Method website is to show you ways to monetize your website without relying on tens of thousands of monthly users.

Below is another site of mine which, as you can see, hasn’t quite reached 1,500 monthly users. This particular site is currently making about $4,000 per month. 

My point is, you don’t need a lot of traffic to make an income from your website.

Who runs Monetization Method?

My name is Matt and I founded Monetization Method in August 2020.

I studied Marketing and Entrepreneurship at University, and have since worked in digital marketing for the past 15 years.

My third job after university was managing the monetization of two blogs / online magazines and it was here where I learnt how to maximize a websites income from it’s traffic (eg not selling a physical product).
